Harley-Davidson Softail description

1994 Heritage Softail Special

Nostalgia Edition (FLSTN)

Up for reluctant sale is my 1994 Heritage Softail Special.  My eighty-seven (87) year old father's illness induces my decision to sell.  Please note I used the word "induce."  This IS NOT a fire sale, so please do not waste your time or mine sending me extremely low offers.  I'm sorry I have to include this, but I know how Ebay works, and I know how people are.  I also know there are many bikes out there, and I thank you for considering mine!

I purchased this bike on July 26, 2013 and took delivery two days later from its original owner since new.  When I purchased the bike, it had 15,747 miles on it, and was somewhat in original condition except he put Vance & Hines Long Shots on.

As far as mechanically, the bike is a STRONG runner.  I did not do too much as he kept it in good working condition. I put progressive shocks on the front, lowered the bike 1.5", whitewall tires, new battery, new voltage regulator and charging system, and floating HD rotors. It also comes with the windshield (not pictured).

Cosmetically, as you can see, I did do some work.  I wanted to take this bike back to the early 1960's with its look, but with modern mechanical parts.  I added a nacelle, a functional kicker, and chrome in all the right places.  I tried not to overdue the chrome, with subtle touches here and there, and those who see the bike tell me it was "tastefully done."  I hope you agree.

Included are the original seat, passenger seat, and saddlebags. I also have the original sissy bar (not pictured).  I have other original parts that I will include in the sale.  I just did not have time to go to storage and dig them out for the photos.  I will also include an HD cover, NOS HD rear seat (hair on calf), a Scavenger oil change system, and a NOS IMEX model of your new bike.  All you have to do is put it together.  You will also receive the XL Harley Davidson reflective logo jacket.  The jacket alone was $500-$600 (if I remember correctly, if not, please correct me).

CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE, AND I WILL ANSWER AS PROMPTLY AS I CAN.

**Bike is sold as is/where is, and not warranty is offered or implied.  I cannot ship the bike, but will make every effort to help you get the bike home, and home safely.  There will also be no test rides for those of you locally.  You're welcome to come by and see it, start it and rev the engine, but my insurance will not cover you dumping it.

Harley-Davidson Reveals Project Livewire

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Yesterday we published a scoop on what we believed to be a production electric motorcycle by, of all companies, Harley-Davidson, dubbed “Livewire.” Today, H-D officially announced Project LiveWire as the company’s first electric motorcycle. However, it appears as though our speculation about LiveWire going into production was a bit off base. Instead, The Motor Company is continuing with its customer-led product development approach and letting riders decide whether or not LiveWire sees the light of day. Starting next week select consumers across the country will be able to ride and provide feedback on the bike, helping to shape the future of Harley-Davidson’s first-ever electric motorcycle. While not for sale, Project LiveWire is specifically designed for the purpose of getting insight into rider expectations of an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson World Ride Tops 10 Million Miles; Eclipses 2012 Total by 28 Percent

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Motorcycle riders from around the world enthusiastically joined members of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) on June 23 and 24 to shatter last year’s record mileage total for the Harley-Davidson World Ride by collectively logging more than 10 million miles, a 28 percent increase over the 2012 total. Launched in 2008 as HOG’s Million Mile Monday, the annual event was expanded into the two-day Harley-Davidson World Ride in 2012 to give more riders worldwide an opportunity to participate. In 2012, participants logged 7,799,140 miles, but this year as riders celebrated the 110th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson Motor Company and the 30th Anniversary of HOG that culminates this Labor Day weekend in Milwaukee, they blitzed that record by more than 25 percent, tallying an official total of 10,018,231 miles.
