The 2013 Breakout Harley Softail model is driven by a powerful air-cooled Twin Cam 103 Harley engine with 6-speed cruise drive transmission that provides more performance power for passing and hill-climbing, and a low cruising RPM for more comfortable cruising. The big, bold Gasser wheels have alternating-position spokes with alternating Vivid Black and machined treatments. The FXSB Softail Breakout model's Gasser wheels recall the powerful, muscular wheels of classic 1960s and 1970s dragster bikes. The new H-D FXSB model's big V-twin engine has a unique, sharp-looking Vivid Black and chrome treatment. The massive 240 mm rear tire on the Breakout model is the widest wheel on any Harley-Davidson production motorcycle. In addition to the restyling, the Street Bob joins the 1200 Custom as one of two bikes available for Harley’s web-based customization program known as H-D1. “Our focus for the Street Bob is always on street appeal,” Harley-Davidson’s Styling Manager Tony Pink said in a release.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season
Wed, 04 Dec 2013More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.
