2009 Harley-Davidson FLHTCU - Ultra Classic Electra Glide, 2009 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra GlideThe ultimate Touring model from Harley-Davidson, the Ultra Classic Electra Glide is fully equipped for a life on the road. Electronic cruise control, 80-watt Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon with passenger sound system, vented fairing lowers and adjustable fairing wind deflectors, luggage liners, and CB radio/intercom are all standard equipment. The Tour-Pak rack has been redesigned with no pierced holes in the tubes for Tour-Pak attachment. The Tour-Pak and saddlebag capacities are increased by five pounds, and it is easier to adjust the Tour-Pak fore and aft for passenger comfort. New features for 2009 include shorty dual antennas that will clear a seven-foot garage door, mid-frame air deflectors that project radiant engine heat away from the rider, and a brighter, long-lasting LED rear fender tip light.

Harley-Davidson Closing Australian Cast Wheel Subsidiary
Thu, 08 Dec 2011Harley-Davidson is closing its cast wheel and hub producing subsidiary New Castalloy, deciding to outsource production to third-party suppliers. Based in Adelaide, Australia, New Castalloy produces about 1,450 wheels and 500 wheel hubs per day for Harley-Davidson. That work will be transferred to outside suppliers by the middle of 2013.
Harley-Davidson Confirms 500cc Model on the Way, Says Electric Harleys Not That Far-Fetched
Mon, 02 Sep 2013It’s only been a couple of weeks since Harley-Davidson broke new ground by unveiling new “Twin-Cooled” liquid precision-cooling engine technology its new Project Rushmore suite of customer-driven refinements, but the Motor Company appears to have even more ambitious plans in the works. Speaking at Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary celebrations, Chief Operating Officer Matthew Levatich confirmed the company is producing a new 500cc model and opened the possibility of an electric Harley-Davidson somewhere down the line. US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
