Harley-Davidson Other description

2008 Harley-Davidson FXSTB - Softail Night Train, Based on the Softail chassis, but leaner, lower and more raked out, the Night Train is one of many Harley models that offer the appearance and distinction of a custom bike with no assembly required. These out-of-the-box customs - which also include the Rocker, Cross Bones, Fat Bob and Street Bob to name a few, provide riders with the unique characteristics of a custom in a reliable, ready-to-ride package. They also provide the simplicity and peace of mind that come from buying a mass-produced motorcycle from an established manufacturer not someones garage. Instead of buying a bike someone else has tinkered with or choosing parts and accessories, installing them yourself and hoping they fit and look good, you can buy the custom bike you want off a showroom floor - providing this setup is the one you want, of course. The California Air Resource Board has issued executive orders on a number of 2014 Harley-Davidson models, revealing much of the Motor Company’s upcoming product lineup. While most of the models listed are familiar, the documents do reveal some gems including possible signs of the long-rumored new liquid-cooled Harley-Davidson engine. The first and least surprising reveal is the disappearance of the 1584cc Twin Cam 96 engine.

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
