Harley-Davidson Other description

Bought this bike new and went to work fixing it up almost immediately. Little things - all new polished stainless bolts, bolt covers, pipes and chrome PM calipers. Its amazing what doesn t come on CVO bikes but I guess that s why Harley has that fat parts catalog! Lived with the bike that way for a while - then, with about 1,500mis on the clock, the real transformation began. The bike was completely torn down and rebuilt. 1st, the heads and cylinders were sent out for diamond cutting. Once back, the engine was given a slight overbore (from 110 cubic inches to 113) just to make a nice home for the new forged 11-1 pistons. The heads were completely ported and polished and machined for bigger valves and valve springs. Last, some monster Zipper s cams were installed along with a custom built belt drive (seen many belt drives on these newer twin cams?). A Wimmer velocity stack finishes it off. Race tuner installed, dyno tuned (114 HORSEPOWER at the rear wheel - lots more if you want to swap on a two into 1 pipe).

The findings are clear that not all dads get their due on their day.

Shelved Harley-Davidson Penster Tilting Trike Prototypes Revealed

Thu, 04 Aug 2011

The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.
