Check out the raked front end, solo seat and Black Denim paint option. Now get ready to put two fists in the wind, courtesy of factory ape hangers framing the road ahead. The emblem on the Fat Bob tank looks like it was carved from a block of solid metal. Laced wheels. Black powder-coated, polished Twin Cam 88 powertrain. And the new 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission via mid-mount controls. Kick it into gear and you re riding clean and pure. It s just what the open road calls for.

2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout Unveiled at Daytona Bike Week

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

In a rare move, Harley-Davidson has unveiled a base version of its Breakout months after first launching the exclusive Custom Vehicle Operations version. Presented at the 2013 Daytona Bike Week, the 2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout offers a similar low and muscular profile as the CVO version but at prices starting at $17,899 compared to the premium model’s $26,999 price point. Tom Roderick reviewed the 2013 Harley-Davidson CVO Breakout last August, saying it “continues the tradition of exclusivity, performance and style customers have come to expect from Harley-Davidson’s Custom Vehicle Operations.” But take away the premium CVO features and what do you have?

Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Mon, 28 Sep 2009

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
