Additionally, all new bobtail models get a shot of adrenaline in the hindquarters — a brawny, road-hugging 200mm tire under a new wider fender. More rubber to stick to the pavement. More style to keep the eyes glued. Throw a leg over a Heritage Softail Classic, and just like that, you’ve bought yourself a one-way ticket to happier days. One look at the studded leather bags and you can’t help but grin. Beefy tires on optional Chrome Profile Laced wheels, graced by chrome-accented fenders. King-size detachable windshield. Low two-up seat with backrest. Giant chrome headlight and passing lamps. This is how the early dressers did it. Today’s version combines all this with the best of today’s technology. For example, the Classic gets a wrinkle black and chrome Twin Cam 88B engine with smooth-riding dual counterbalancers. Fire one up and good feelings fill the soul. For a limited time, we are offering one-of-a kind, custom color combinations that are over and above the standard two-tone color options available during the model year. The Hydra-Glide name celebrates its 75th anniversary, dating back to the first hydraulic fork that was equipped to a Harley-Davidson, replacing the springer front end in 1949, while the “slash” fuel tank design, emblem, classic round air filter cover, two-toned windshield, seat, and cases, are all nods to the 1956 FLH. New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 – Motorcycle Manufacturers Draw Battle Lines for World’s Second Largest Market
Mon, 09 Jan 2012In past years, the biennial Auto Expo in India slipped under the radar while the industry was focused more on shows such as EICMA in Italy and Intermot in Germany. But with India’s middle class starting to flex its financial muscle while other markets continue to struggle, the New Delhi show is becoming much more prominent, with major OEMs positioning themselves to claim a piece of the India’s 13 million vehicles-a-year market. We’ve already looked at India-produced Royal Enfield’s new Thunderbird 500 and Hero Moto’s hybrid scooter concept which debuted at the Auto Expo, and today we’ll look at what the major international OEMs presented.
