2002 Harley-Davidson Road King CUSTOM, 2002 HD Road King. I've owned the bike since 2003, when I purchased it with 5,000 miles. Original owner preferred a Honda. 27,500 miles total, with 22,500 being miles I rode over ten years. Looks great, runs great, and is a good dependable ride. It's a cruiser, and rides well on the road. A few out of state trips - New Mexico, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas. A small amount of riding around north Texas. I keep it garaged. Hardly ever ride it. I have some oils, and other items that go with it. No radio. Has cruise control, windshield, saddlebags, back rests, 5 speed, V Twin 88/1450, about 750 lbs. Sons Of Anarchy Claims “We Basically Saved Harley.”
Wed, 12 Feb 2014“We basically saved Harley,” says Sons of Anarchy co-star Mark Boone Jr. (Bobby) to Susan Carpenter of The Hollywood Reporter. In a time before the economic meltdown, motorcycle sales, especially for Harley-Davidson, were booming. After the collapse, sales have only started to pick up again within the past two years (at nowhere near pre-2008 levels, however).
Motorcycle Thefts Down 11.2% in 2010
Wed, 21 Sep 2011Motorcycle thefts in the U.S. are down for the fourth consecutive year in 2010, according to a report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau. There were 49,791 reported motorcycle thefts in 2010, an 11.2% drop from the 56,093 thefts reported in 2009.
Harley Declares Women Riders Month
Tue, 10 Feb 2009Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.
