Harley-Davidson Other description

1977 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide CLASSIC, Original 1977 Harley Davidson FLH. This bike is history you can ride. This bike was a frame up rebuilt three years ago (5,000 miles ago), but I kept the original paint on the sheet metal. Cosmetically it is in good shape for being 37 years old. The previous owner painted the faring and then dropped the bike and scratched the fiberglass, but there are no dings or dents in the sheet metal. The fuel tanks are clean inside with no rust. Mechanically the bike is in great shape, with a complete engine and transmission rebuild by a nationally recognized engine rebuilder here in Ohio. I have an invoice for nearly $5000 worth of parts and labor for the engine and transmission alone. I also replaced nearly every moving part including new alternator and regulator, all with Harley Davidson parts. The only non-original upgrades were to install an electronic timing module instead of the points and a new Mikuni carburetor was added as a performance upgrade. I have the original carburetor and all the other associated parts, so it can be restored to original if you desire (it ran well for me for the first 9000 miles on the original carburetor). The bike runs great and has taken me on trips around Lake Erie / Huron / Superior / plus all over Ohio and Michigan. This bike cruises great at 50 - 65 mph but also does well at 70+ with just a small increase in vibration. It has the original wiring harness which was inspected carefully and I found no reason to replace it. The Frame and engine have matching serial numbers. There are many additional chrome parts which I did not install, but are all included with the bike (see photo). I am also including several boxes of spare parts, two additional seats (the present seat is a Corbin with a back rest). This seat is lower and is very comfortable for longer rides. I am also including all the special tools acquired during the rebuild process. Included are manuals and period literature, including a mint condition 1977 FLH owners manual. I planned on keeping this bike forever, but I have found the bike of my dreams and I only have the room and money for one bike, so it is time for us to go our separate ways. They say you don't really own a historical vehicle like this, you just get to borrow it for a while. My time is up, she is as good as new mechanically and not bad looking for her age. Enjoy the pictures and call if you need further pictures or information. The price is $8990.00 firm. $8,990.00
