Harley-Davidson Other description

This bike was purchased Saturday at an auction in Ocean City Maryland... the auction included the bike collection of the Bennett family that owned a few Harley Dealerships in the area and the auction included many rare bikes.  As we are a dealer we are now bringing the bike to ebay to resell.  This bike comes with an open Certificate of Origin that can be used in any state to obtain a title although I would think that the CO for this rare bike would be more desirable to a collector... and this bike needs to go into a collection.

This bike was properly stored in the Bennett's collection.  I have started the bike, let it idle, and drove it about 10 feet to insure that the bike would engage in gear from neutral.... this bike has only 4 miles on it and I did not want to put any miles on it.  This bike is bone stock with no alteration from when it was originally purchased by the Harley Dealership... the 4 miles it shows comes from the factory setup, dealer setup, and auction set up.  The bike has the original metal gas tank that is flawless inside and out.  Tires are Metzelers, are in great shape, and appear to be original.  No dents or cracks in any of the body work.  Rims and spokes are rust free.  Engine is clean, runs, starts, and shifts (only 4 miles properly stored).  Seat has no rips, tears, or holes.  Lenses and gages have no cracks.  I have looked over this bike and can declare it rust free.  The only issue that this bike has is that it is missing the key and a toggle switch has been installed in order to start the bike.  We've taken lots of photos of this bike so that you will be confident of the condition of the bike.

Doing the research, you will find that this one of the rarest Harley's ever produced.  Some say that the year 2000 models were rarer than the 1999 version.... the production years were only 1999 and 2000 and apparently only 400-500 were produced ( I read that only 150 of the year 2000 bikes are currently accounted for).  This particular bike in number 50 based on the VIN.  Many of these bikes currently reside outside of the country and many have been repainted, modified, or destroyed (remember that this vehicle is meant to be driven off road).  The bike was never publicly sold, only certain dealers got their hands on them, and most are in collections and museums.  This bike for sale is even rarer as it was never actually registered and still has its Certificate of Origin.  Examples like this simply do not pop up very often.

Terms of Sale:
This vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty stated or implied.  If you bid on this bike we assume that you intend to purchase the bike.  We reserve the right to revoke any bids at our own discretion.  As we are a brick and mortar motorcycle and scooter shop, we reserve the right to end the auction early in order to sell the vehicle locally.  A deposit of $300 is due 24hrs. from the end of the auction.  The balance is due 36hrs after the end of auction in cash or via paypal.  Checks of any type are not accepted.  Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.  The buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle or scheduling a shipper within one week from the end of the auction. Identification will be required when the vehicle is released and a BAL will be required from any third party shipper.  We own a reliable and safe box truck and offer regional shipping.... feel free to contact us for a quote.  We are a shop in Salisbury Maryland (zip 21801) and are available 6 days a week for viewing of the bikes or questions.... feel free to call us at 410-219-3533.

Legends Ride Stops Sturgis Traffic

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

This is a small sample of the participants in Monday’s annual Legends Ride from Deadwood to Sturgis. Hundreds of bikes thundered through the Black Hills toward Sturgis on Monday afternoon, creating a cacophony not heard in these parts since, well, last year. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.

Harley-Davdison Museum Opens Tsunami Motorcycle Exhibit

Wed, 24 Oct 2012

From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.
