1967 Custom Harley Davidson FLH Generator Shovel
Color is purple with a motif cross and trailing flames. Engine size is FLH 1200 SS heads and carb 5364 miles on rebuild Arlan Ness Controls Original transmission Was built in 2002 Have all receipts for build. New battery this year and oil change. New tires last year. Picture #6 has wax on bar. Picture 9 & 10 are 2 different scratches from grandchild Have extra original purple paint for touch up. Since this is a custom, please feel free to ask any questions about any parts or build. Will answer promptly. Can make offer. Local pick up. Fri, 28 May 2010IT'S 35 YEARS since Evel Knievel attempted to jump 13 London buses at Wembley Stadium. Riding a heavy, slow Harley-Davidson XR750, the American daredevil had serious reservations about the jump, admitting the take-off ramp was too short, therefore limiting the bike's speed. But even though the plucky American knew his chances of pulling off the stunt were slim, he was reluctant to disappoint the 80,000-strong Wembley crowd.
Harley Declares Women Riders Month
Tue, 10 Feb 2009Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.
