It was because of a payment detail that I was not familiar with.

I'm the 3rd owner of this mid-year 1937 H-D EL.
I bought it from the original owners son 43 years ago and it's been my daily rider ever since. The son did what everyone was doing to Harley's in the early 1970's and made a chopper out of it.
Over the years I've bought and stashed OEM '37 parts for her and replaced them when it came rebuild time.
Which brings me to today.
I tore her down to do another rebuild and before I could finish her up, I developed a medical issue that's probably going to end my riding days.
What is done is the motor is fresh top to bottom and ready to fire. It has matching belly numbers, a perfect VIN boss and numbers, no broken fins or motor mounts or any other case repairs. It did have a small crack in the front exhaust pipe port welded up before I got it.
I believe the small port heads and cylinders are the original '37 with the front head even having the drain plug.
The 61ci cylinders are bored to .020 and were re-sleeved the last time about 25,000 miles ago. Lots of life left in them.
Frame was completely gone over and rebuilt, including new bottom tubes (between sidecar loops and rear motor mount bracket) where they always get smashed flat from speed bumps. It's also sporting a fresh black powder coat finish. Neck bearings are ball bearing style. This frame has been identified as a 1938, not a '37. I was told it's the original frame this bike came with, but who knows, they were changing things so fast between 1936-1939 .
This is a late 1937 production and they made changes that went into all 1938 frames, The 1937 on a late production bike has this frame.
The 1937 could have either frame and be correct. Your opinion may differ, that's up to you or who you ask. Everyone has an opinion, just ask'em.
The front end, wheels. and handlebars are also '41-'46 and have been rebuilt.
The tin I had on her pre-rebuild are OEM 1941-1946 and those pics of the red and black Knuck are the before shots.
The new repop 1936-1939 tin I have ready to bolt on has a brand new blue and two tone cream paint job.
There's a pic of a bike with that paint scheme included, this isn't that bike, but it is what it'll look like.
I also have a number of OEM cats eye and skull dashes for both . The high bidder gets to choose which tin and also gets first option on the others.
I've also got choices of oil tanks, one beautiful OEM 1937 only, and a few other '38-'47 tanks.
One seat is an OEM '37 I think, the other is a repop.
The transmission is where I stopped. It was working flawlessly, but it could be gone through and at least cleaned up to match all of the rest of the nice new goodies.
Like every Knuck I've ever owned, it leaks from the main seal a bit. And again, I believe it's the original tranny.
I still have the original clutch that came off it which is a four stud unit with sportster looking plates, but replaced it with a later model three stud decades ago.
The primary cover is OEM, a bit greasy, but very usable.
A rare matching NOS fully enclosed rear chain guard goes with her too.
Electrics are stock 6V stuff with a raggedy, greasy old OEM harness, OEM round brake light switch and OEM tail light(s). The skull dash has the OEM oil pressure gauge and the amp meter. Coil is a new repop. Headlight(s), and spots are an eclectic mix of OEM, old repop and new repop. Same with the speedo's.
There's a bunch of other stuff that I'm sure I'm forgetting like original floorboards, winter windshield, metal leg guards, etc so I'll leave my number. No tire kickers please, and if you're looking for a museum queen this could be one with some more work, but it's built to be a rider.
The bike is NOT ASSEMBLED. Most everything has been done except the transmission but since it is being sold you can inspect all the parts and be the first to assemble the unscarred paint. No bolt or bracket marks in the new blue and two tone cream paint job.
The bike was assembled with the red and black before this rebuild, you can choose which one you want or both.
MANY EXTRA PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE SEPARATELY AFTER THE SALE YOU CAN SEE THEM IN PERSON.
THIS HAS BEEN A 40 YEAR SEARCH AND RESCUE RESTORATION. I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING ORIGINAL PARTS SINCE I BOUGHT THIS BIKE. SO THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT HAVEN'T SEEN DAYLIGHT IN A LONG TIME STILL BOXED UP.
ONLY THE BIKE WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED COMPLETE IS FOR AUCTION. ANYTHING ELSE CAN BE NEGOTIATED WHEN I UNBOX IT.

2015 Harley-Davidson CVO and Twin-Cooled Models Certified by CARB

The CARB executive orders, required before a motorcycle is allowed to be sold in California, reveal new CVO versions of the Road Glide Ultra and Street Glide, two low versions of the Electra Glide and more models receiving Harley-Davidson’s Twin-Cooled engine. Introduced last year on the Ultra Limited, CVO Limited and Tri-Glide Ultra trike, the Twin-Cooled engine uses liquid-cooling for the cylinder heads, reducing emissions.
