 Up for auction is a Original paint 1920 sport  model W  Harley Davidson Opposed. This Rare motorcycle has been in storage for more than 35 years,it is 98% complete and is in it's original paint "Olive Drab" This model was available from 1919 to 1923 4 year's only !it is 93 years old.the motor has compression  and kicks thru ,but I have not attempted to start it.It is missing the rear chain,the mag wire and mag pick-up,a piece of linkage from the mag to the frame junction block .The front fork upper left brace is detached at the bottom and the right gas tank has a lead in repair ,all is viewable in the pictures.I do have the inclosed 3 piece chain guard.This motor cycle is being sold has is with no warranties expressed or implied. shipping is the buyers responsibility. Shelved Harley-Davidson Penster Tilting Trike Prototypes Revealed

The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.

46,061 Motorcycles Stolen in US in 2012

An average of 126 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. every day in 2012, according to a report released by the the National Insurance Crime Bureau. That’s from a total of 46,061 motorcycles reported stolen that year a 1.3% improvement from the 46,667 motorcycles reported stolen in 2011.

While they may have been convenient and offered motorcycle-friendly amenities, they did so with little comfort or luxury. On the other hand, accommodations on the higher end of the spectrum were pretentious and inconvenient for storing bikes and gear.
