Harley-Davidson Flathead description

1947 Harley Flathead. Restored in 1996. 600 miles since restoration. Paint/Chrome very good. Tires like new. Beauty new rims. A couple minor nicks on end of rear fender. Easily fixed. Not a perfect bike but a very nice runner.

New Speedo failed at 444 miles. Not sure what problem.

Oil pump needs changed or rebuilt. Oil pressure is good but leaks oil in base when sitting for a while. Bearing check valve likely problem. Common issue.

Currently running a Mikini carb(runs a lot better than Linkert(sorry...) But old Linkert and air cleaner goes with bike.

New(unpainted) front fender comes with bike. Also some misc parts(see Pics).

New seat springs.

Primary chain replaced by a belt kit purchased from Germany. This runs flawlessly. None of the old chain issues. Hidden and you can't see,

Buyer to pickup or arrange shipping.

British Columbia Collector Plate.

Bike is located in Chilliwack, BC. If a USA buyer, I will deliver to the shipper in Sumas, WA and take care of all costs and paperwork at US Customs Brokers.( I sold my 80 Vette to a USA buyer in the Spring via Ebay and there were no issues. Buyer was very satisfied. See my sales comments).

Harley Art

Mon, 16 Jan 2012

A new display in the Harley-Davidson museum in Milwaukee is set to open at the end of this week exhibiting the artwork of the firm's styling chief Willie G Davidson. As well as being the grandson of the original 'Davidson' and in charge of all Harley's styling, it turns out that Willie G is a dab hand with a paintbrush. According to Harley-Davidson, the display will include “idyllic rural landscapes and still life watercolour paintings with strong luminosity and form that hint at time spent in the countryside during 48 years as the pacesetter in motorcycle design.” The firm's museum has also announced other special exhibits planned for later in the year, including “Journey of the Iron Elite: The Evolution of Motorcycle Culture through the Eyes of African-Americans” and “Born to be Wild: The Black Leather Jacket” - a 4000-square-foot display dedicated purely to black biker jackets...

Harley-Davidson Invites Fan On Red Carpet At Captain America Premiere

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

Harley-Davidson and Marvel surprised fans at the premiere of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier in Hollywood, by inviting them onto the red carpet after it closed. Fans at the event were spontaneously selected to walk and experience the official red carpet and to check out a brand new Street 750 motorcycle along with the stars of the film, who autographed the bike for charity. The Winter Soldier star Chris Evans signs a new Harley-Davidson Street 750 at the premiere in Hollywood, CA.  Following the premiere, Harley-Davidson will donate the bike to Concord Youth Theatre. In its continued partnership with Marvel Comics, Harley-Davidson had six motorcycles at the premiere along the red carpet, where fans took pictures and interacted with actor and musician, Tyler Posey, the official Harley-Davidson commentator and host.
