Last of the Shovel Heads

In May 1984, Harley changed from the Shovel Head to the Evo Engine. This bike was built April 17, 1984.

This bike is one of the last Shovels produced.

It's a 4 speed transmission, belt drive.

Electric Start with a kicker.

This bike starts immediately and runs exceptionally well  .

Runs an S&S Super E Carb

The top end was rebuilt at 25,000 miles with new valves, seats, springs, and rocker arms.

This bike is totally original with the exception of the addition of drag bars and a 56 Pan Head rear fender.

I have, and will give you, the original Buckhorn handlebars and the original short fender.

The rims are in average cosmetic condition. 

The tires are 60 percent still usable.

Legends Ride Stops Sturgis Traffic

This is a small sample of the participants in Monday’s annual Legends Ride from Deadwood to Sturgis. Hundreds of bikes thundered through the Black Hills toward Sturgis on Monday afternoon, creating a cacophony not heard in these parts since, well, last year. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.
