(THIS BIKE IS BEING RELISTED WITH A LOWER RESERVE OF $4500 DONT LET IT GET AWAY) Up for Auction is a 1983 Harley Davidson Wide Glide 1340cc with only 12,000 miles , It runs great! It has an electric start and manual kick start.comes with many extras, 2 seats (1 single and 1 doulble seat), 2 handle bars (1 ape hanger 1 middle of the road handle bar), 1 helmet never been use. It also comes with a Bike hauler only used twice . I'm selling it only because of health issues. It does have a dent in one of the gas tanks, where it didn't get strapped down good enough while moving it cross country in the back of a trailer. It can be easily replaced for $100-$200 new. There are no know issues with the bike other than the dent in the gas tank and it runs great. It is being sold as is , with extras and all you see in the pics,( The bike was pretty dirty when I took the pics,so it really doesnt do the bike justice, It cleans up very well and looks great) , It has a low reserve . Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas
Fri, 04 Oct 2013On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
Knievel bikes to go on show in Britain
Mon, 15 Nov 2010THE MOTORCYCLES, leathers and personal memorabilia made famous by US stunt legend Evel Knievel are being exhibited on a world tour, with a UK date on the schedule. The True Evel tour will be at the Battistinis California Dreamin' Expo, 28th-29th May 2011 in Bournemouth, UK. Show-goers will get the chance to see Knievel's famous Harley-Davidson which crashed in a jump over a tank of sharks, the X-2 Sky Cycle from the ill-fated Snake River Canyon jump, the Wheelie Dragster Car, and of course the instantly recognisable blue and white leather suits.
