This is a restored/modified 1978 Yamaha SR500, the famous street version of the 500cc thumpers also built for TT, XT offroad models.  I bought the bike about 6 months ago from an Ebay seller on the East Coast who had just completed the restoration, and have since put 34 miles on it.  The mileage is estimated - the new gauges and speedo read 34 miles.

Up for sale is my near mint 1978 Yamaha SR500. I've absolutely loved owning and riding this bike, however I'm moving to the mountains in Utah and it won't get the attention it deserves.  It has always been garaged and has less than 16,000 miles on it (I have put 1,500 miles on it since I purchased it 2 years ago) and has less than 20 miles since its last service. Here is a video of a walk around: https://youtu.be/oFYYhUo6o3U The title is clear, the registration is paid through April 2017 and it comes with the custom vanity plate "SEVNT8".  I have never had any issues with it and everything runs absolutely great.

Engine is stock, except the carburetor, a mechanical slide instead of that thing with the "accelerator pump diaphram", the pipe is stainless; a true Thruxton bend for those of us who actually know the difference, and a K&N air filter. The cam chain was recently replaced and it was noted that the piston was a first over (which make actual mileage of the engine hard to know). The frame has been modified with limited steering lock, and cut at the rear to accommodate the Matchless G50 replica seat, the rest is stock. Clip-ons are Tomaselli, headlight is stock, with Omega Racer Gold Star replica mounts, tail light and reverse cone megaphone are EMGO products, the rear hub is from an XT500. The front brake master cylinder is Nissin/Kawasaki with a black stainless line that negated the brake light switch junction block.

A double dose of nostalgia Photos by Edward Narraca; Harley-Davidson Museum Archives I love classic Americana. Hot rods, choppers, you name it. It’s one of the things that make me proud to be from the place that this aesthetic was born.

The Hydra-Glide name celebrates its 75th anniversary, dating back to the first hydraulic fork that was equipped to a Harley-Davidson, replacing the springer front end in 1949, while the “slash” fuel tank design, emblem, classic round air filter cover, two-toned windshield, seat, and cases, are all nods to the 1956 FLH. Del Mar delays, Project Fuel and the X350RA Harley-Davidson presented its fourth quarter 2022 financial results, and the results were generally strong, but not without a few hiccups. The quarter was strong, compared to the previous year, with revenues ($1.14 billion vs $1.02 billion), operating income (profit of $4 million vs loss of $7 million) diluted earnings per share ($0.28 versus $0.14) showing increases in 2022. For the year, Harley-Davidson reported revenues of $5.76 billion compared to $5.34 billion in 2021, and an operating income of $909 million compared to $823 million in the previous year.
