Harley-Davidson Dyna description

The Harley Davidson’s new Low Rider S is by far the best handling and spirited Harley introduced in many, many years.  It is equipped with the factory stock Screaming Eagle 110 inch motor with factory Heavy Breather air cleaner and 6 speed transmission.  The excellent handling is complements of Harley’s  premium ride gas charged emulsion rear suspension and Showa 49mm premium cartridge forks – big difference from the normal Harley suspension.  Added features are factory alarm system, ABS brakes and cruise control that are usually costly options on most of the big twins.  Full warranty less the couple months that I have owned it.

I added high end detachable Saddle Pro lockable leather bags ($800), relocated the slide license plate to the back  fender (Great Bike Gear, lot cleaner $175), rear foot pegs/bracket ($100), Custom Dynamics LWD front/rear running and turn signals (best LED’s on the market ($175))(not headlight) and security siren (loud, not just flashing turn signals when activated $100), HD dark custom primary derby cover (~$100), double seat (from friend), detachable hardware kit ($100) and sissy bar ($80) and pad ($80) - Around $1500 of accessories.

One great thing with this bike the way it is set up is that you can go from solo rider to wife/girlfriend friendly bike in less than 5 minutes by quickly putting on the double seat, bags, sissy bar and pad.

I have only had this bike several months and put around 1500 miles, so it should be just broken in.  I had my dealer recently do the 1000 mile (~$400) service around a month ago.  I have really enjoyed this bike the short period I have owned it, but selling due to work uncertainty.

I am pricing it to sell.   Base MSRP is $16699 with usually around adds up to $17700 (freight + dealer setup ~$1000) before taxes.  Considering the accessories the value of the bike is up to $19200.  I will be starting bid at $15400 with no reserve, $2800+ savings for a bike that is only a couple of months old that had just had it’s initial 1000 mile service.

I just purchased a new TTS tuner ($425) for the bike, but have not installed it (unopened).  I definitely recommend adding a tuner, even on a stock bike, since the government requires Harley’s to run excessively lean.  This is the best ECM programmer on the market, not a piggy back system.  It is very easy to install and program.  Far better than Screaming Eagle tuner.  I plan to sell it separately, but if someone buys the bike, I will let it go for $200.

2013 AIMExpo: Sumo-X – Video

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Harley-Davidson riders like to customize their rides and Sumo-X gives them some interesting storage and style options, which we saw at the 2013 American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Fla. The Sumo-X Tour Pack offers an incredible amount of storage behind and around the seat for Harley dressers. It allows you to access two bags or whatever else you’d like to keep in its cavernous opening.

ACCEL Stealth Supercoils Now Available For Harley-Davidson Sportsters

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

ACCEL today announced the company’s popular motorcycle Stealth SuperCoils will now be available to owners of 2007-2014 Harley-Davidson Sportsters.  First introduced in late-2013 for Harley-Davidson Twin-Cam engines, ACCEL’s Stealth SuperCoils provide quicker engine starting and improved throttle response, while hiding all ignition wiring in the head of the self-contained coil pack; eliminating the need for spark plug wires and creating a clean, custom look. In addition to the flat black and natural aluminum finishes, the Sportster Stealth SuperCoils are offered in flat black with polished aluminum edges. Each SuperCoil mounts directly to the spark plug and features a cross-functional cast aluminum cover that also acts as a heat sink, pulling heat away from the cylinder heads.

Zero Motorcycles Promotes Askenazi to CTO

Tue, 24 May 2011

Zero Motorcycles has promoted Abe Askenazi to the position of chief technology officer. A former Buell engineer, Askenazi joined Zero Motorcycles in 2010 as vice president of engineering where he played a vital role in developing the company’s 2011 line-up, overhauling over 80% of Zero’s existing electric motorcycle line-up while adding the Zero XU and street legal versions of the Zero X and Zero MX in just 10 months on the job. “Abe’s ability to effectively execute on an aggressive product development plan, select the best new technologies and rally his team is remarkable.
