Ducati Superbike description

Here's 1 we don't see too often for sale... 2007 999SParts Unlimited Edition – ZDM1UB5V27B018074 - 2700mis. This isone of 150 Ducati bikes commemorating Ducati AMA Superbike Riders Ben Bostromand Neil Hodgson. This 2007 999s PartsUnlimited (Team USA) has a ton of tasteful upgrades. This motorcycle began as a stock 2007 Ducati999S Parts Unlimited and I’m the 3rd owner. The previous owner was going to turn it into a track bike and decidedagainst it due to its pristine condition. I have added numerous updates to set the bike just right. I hate to sell it, but I need the funds for anew bike. The bike had 250mis when Ipurchased it; at the recommendation of Ducati of Santa Barbara all fluids werereplaced and the timing belts were replaced as well. The stock exhaust has been replaced with aDucati Performance 57mm exhaust tip. This has dramatically improved the sound of the bike. The front fender was replaced with a carbonfiber one, as well as the seat unit. Other Ducati Performance carbon parts include theexhaust heel shield, exhaust cover, air tube covers, racing belt covers, reartire hugger/chain guard, and the front V chin fairing. The rearsets are Acculign (almost impossibleto find), and the bike also has a Speedymoto top Triple clamp (original isincluded). The steering bearings werereplaced with conical bearings. Theclutch and brake fluid lids were starting to corrode, so those were replacedwith anodized units. The fuel cap wasalso replaced with a quick release unit (original with matching lock isincluded). The upper fairing/mirrorsupports are magnesium, as well as the clutch cover. The factory brake light unit was replacedwith an integrated brake and turn signal LED unit which also got rid of therear fender parts (original brake light unit included in the auction). A Rizoma Clutch Pressure plate was alsoinstalled (original included). Rearstand spools are included; frame plugs are also installed. Tires might need to be replaced soon. The last complete service was done 6/30/2012 with 1,062 miles which included the timing belts, oil and filter change (Motul 300 VOLT 15/50Synthetic Oil). Auction includes a black key, the red key, maintenancerecords, and some miscellaneous original parts. I can help to arrange shipping. The bike is located in Lompoc, CA, an houraway from Santa Barbara. Any questionsor if you want specific images emailed to you please message me through eBay. Ask MO Anything: Why Didn't the Ducati Supermono Just Use Normal Counterbalancers?

Mon, 12 Sep 2022

Doppia Bielletta for 100, Alex Following our recent Falloon File about the lovely and talented little Ducati Supermono, Commenter Bob wanted to know: “Why did Bordi use an extra connecting rod instead of the usual balance shafts? BMW had a parallel twin with a third con rod for the same reason. I would be interested in reading a technical analysis of those motors.” Dear Bob, Interesting.

Rain Puts a Damper on Ducati MotoGP Test

Wed, 29 Feb 2012

Wet conditions limited Ducati factory riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden to just 18 laps each on the second of three days of MotoGP testing in Malaysia. Though there is a lot of work to be done for Ducati to be competitive, the heavy rainfall plus Hayden’s still-recovering shoulder limited track time for both riders. They used what time they did have to work on the Ducati Desmosedici GP12‘s electronics including new traction control software.

Austin Kicks Off MotoGP Weekend!

This weekend, the MotoGP circus makes its way to the United States for round two of the world championship, held at the stunning new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, the first time the track will host a world championship level motorcycle event. Expect to see the world’s fastest racebikes reach speeds over 200 mph on the 1 km (0.62-mile) back straight, and bring ear plugs — these bikes are loud! Fresh off a 1-2 finish in the season opener in Qatar, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi are looking to carry the momentum to CotA.
