Ducati Superbike tech info
Ducati Superbike description
This was one of the very limited numbers to be hand assembled in Italy! 2000 Ducati 748S, 17630 original miles. Factory 748S bi-posto, I have the bi-posto tail and have purchased the additional solo tail and both are included. I have both of the original Ducati service front and rear stands (rear even has the Ducati tag) that match frame and wheel color. I purchased bike from Interlakes Sport Center in Madison, South Dakota. Previous owner has 12k service done at at dealer. The 748S is factory equipped with adjustable steering stem, Showa forks and rear shock, Brembo calipers, quick release Dzus fasteners for the bodywork and Factory Marchesini 5 spoke wheels. The Termignoni Carbon canisters (slip-on) are included and I do not have the original canisters.
I have added the white front plate decal, a 30mm clutch slave, open gold clutch cover, carbon rear hugger fender and chain guard, anodized gold rear ride height adjuster, battery is less than a year old, New Barnett clutch, with new hardened clutch basket, new pressure plate and new springs (all with less than 1500 miles on them). Michelin 2TC tires are in great shape. I will include a dark smoked windscreen (never installed) all previous parts that I have upgraded or replaced plus the Ducati Factory Service Manual. This is adult owned and maintained. I have not ridden this bike in the rain. I also do not wash with soap and water either as I use Honda Polish. It does have a couple little marks from sand/gravel that traffic and the wheels pick up, but is an overall beautiful machine!

Wed, 16 Jul 2014When Ducati introduced the 1199 Panigale, it announced it would take an entire racing season to develop its World Superbike challenger before entering it into competition. Being a new design for Ducati, where the Superquadro engine is the main stressed member of the chassis, meant a significant amount of testing was required to prepare the bike for battle. In this video, former racer, and now TV commentator, Steve Martin, explains a few nuances of the 1199.
Track days, I love em!
Fri, 29 Jul 2011I never tire of track days. Well I wouldn’t as I’m out most weeks earning a crust instructing on them, however, there is usually an amusing story at the end of each event. I get great pleasure helping riders (especially if it makes them safer) although I do come across some weird and wonderful riding in the process.
