Ducati Superbike description

2001 Ducati 748s. Has an Indiana Rebuilt brand on Title. I dont know the prior history on this bike as I bought it from the Insurance company. This bike does not have any notable damages anything that needed to be replaced or repaired was. I have owned many other Ducati's and this bike runs and drives like it should. Bike is not perfect it has 19000 miles but doesnt look like it.  Mechanically this bike is in great shape and needs nothing. Recently installed new Pirelli Diablo Tires, New Barnett clutch and Springs, Oil changed within the last 200 miles. Cosmetically this bike is in great shape it is not perfect. Flaws include 1 paint chip behind quick fitting (note the black spot in the picture showing the chip is a bug)  a couple very small air bubbles behind the Ducati tank decals not noticeable but I wanted to mention it. The front carbon fiber fender has some cracking in the clear coat it doesnt look bad or cause any problems if you want I have a perfect yellow front fender same color as the bike that is included, I just prefer the carbon fender. Paint is very very nice. Because this is a factory S model the factory upgrades from the base 748  includes Termignoni exhaust, Showa exhaust, 5 spoke wheels, and a solo tail. The Suspension has been tuned and feels great in the curves. This is a great bike and does not need anything just a new home. In short a great bike not new so its not perfect but it really is in great shape. Ask any and all questions before bidding. If you want to see the bike prior to bidding feel free to contact me. Buyer inspection is encouraged.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Deposit due within 24hrs balance due within 7days of auction close in form of cash or check. Any checks will have to clear before bike can be picked

Ask MO Anything: Why Didn't the Ducati Supermono Just Use Normal Counterbalancers?

Mon, 12 Sep 2022

Doppia Bielletta for 100, Alex Following our recent Falloon File about the lovely and talented little Ducati Supermono, Commenter Bob wanted to know: “Why did Bordi use an extra connecting rod instead of the usual balance shafts? BMW had a parallel twin with a third con rod for the same reason. I would be interested in reading a technical analysis of those motors.” Dear Bob, Interesting.

2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale Engine Details Revealed.

Mon, 10 Oct 2011

Today, Ducati has revealed many telling details about the all-new 1199 Panigale “SuperQuadro” engine in anticipation of the machine’s complete unveiling next month at EICMA in Milan. Needless to say, with all the hype and buildup surrounding the 1199 Panigale, much of it has centered around the completely radical and highly oversquare engine that also acts as the main stressed member of the monocoque frame. The design goals were rather ambitious — 195 hp, among others —and as such, much of what we’ve come to expect from Ducati has been thrown out the window.
