Ducati Superbike description

2002 Ducati Superbike 998, Beautiful Classic Superbike! The '02 Ducati 998 is considered by many to be the best looking model year of the what is arguably the most beautiful series of motorcycles ever built - the iconic 916 / 996 / 998 Ducatis. This example is in superb condition with many new pieces, performance options and new paint! For those that have yet to ride a Ducati, think of them as two wheeled Corvettes. They ruled the racing world for decades because of the power delivery characteristic of their very torquey motors. You can dial up the power in a very predictable, linear way - not turning up the rheostat on an electric motor) which is perfect for coming out of corners while leaned hard over. This bike has the full Termi exhaust system (not just the cans), an Acculign Triple Clamp, new complete clutch system - baskets, discs, slave cylinder and master cylinder seals and o-rings, new EBC full floating font Brake Rotors with pads and finally, new Dunlop SportMax tires. IN the styling department it has a complete full body very high quality paint job. The graphics are paint, not decals. Added at the time of the paint were the body colored, integrated Turn Signal Mirrors. To top it off I have installed high intensity low and high beam bulbs and a tinted, taller windscreen. This is possibly the sweetest riding twisty road machine you'll ever throw a leg over The engine starts quickly and is very crisp on the throttle response. The Ohlins / Showa suspension package is fully adjustable for your weight and riding style. This is NOT the fastest motorcycle in the world, but this series won more racing championships for Ducati than any other because of its superb balance of power, braking and confidence inspiring handling. If you'd rather drag a knee on some county road sweepers than drag race between traffic lights this is the machine for you. Oh, and you won't see many other bikes like this at every traffic light, either. Get a stunningly beautiful, iconic Italian sportbike for the price of just another used Jap literbike. Melandri earned BMW its landmark first win in Race One leading Haslam in a one-two finish. They could have repeated that finish in Race Two but Haslam low-sided after making contact with Honda‘s Jonathon Rea trying to pass on the inside.

Dramatic start to the 848 Challenge season

Tue, 10 Apr 2012

The 2012 Ducati 848 Challenge got off to a dramatic start at Brands Hatch this weekend as the weather played a disruptive influence on the outcome of both races. Cold, rainy conditions prevailed on both Easter Sunday and Monday forcing the field of 33 riders to kick-off the season racing on wet tyres in greasy track conditions. With a number of riders having to start from pit lane, Race 1 got off to an eventful start with two riders falling at Paddock Hill as all the riders jostled for places and wheels touched.
