Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden Frolicking in the Snow [Video]
Mon, 16 Jan 2012Last week, we wrote about Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden and Ducati’s annual Wrooom ski and press event in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy. While Ducati, Rossi and Hayden are under intense pressure to perform better in 2012 than they did in the 2011 MotoGP season, the Wrooom event provided the riders and the team a chance to unwind before getting back to work. Former World Champion Franco Uncini Named Grand Prix Safety Officer
Wed, 20 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation has named Franco Uncini the FIM Grand Prix Safety Officer and circuit inspector. The 1982 500cc Grand Prix World Champion (pictured on the left above) takes over for the retired Claude Danis (right in the photo) to oversee safety in MotoGP. The now 58-year-old Uncini won the 1982 World Championship for Roberto Gallina‘s factory-backed Suzuki.
Casey Stoner to Retire After 2012 MotoGP Season
Thu, 17 May 2012Two-time MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner has announced he will retire following the end of the 2012 season. Rumors of Stoner’s impending retirement plans have been floating around for weeks with the 26-year-old Repsol Honda racer saying he will continue racing until he no longer enjoyed it. That seems to be the case now as the 2007 and 2011 MotoGP Champion announced he will retire at a press conference ahead of this weekend’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
