Up for sale here is my beautiful, immaculate 2002 998 Monoposto. Previous owner added the following items: Termi slip-ons, adjustable levers, Ohlins steering damper, fender eliminator, Samco hoses, upgraded clutch slave, and a few carbon bits. He also had all bodywork painted by a highly-regarded painter in the northeast who made subtle changes to the "Ducati 998" font on the side fairings and pinstripes framing the white number plates. Aesthetics are obviously in the eye of the beholder but I find both to be much better looking than the stock look. OEM wheels are also powder-coated black.
This bike has never been down or abused in any way - - in fact the engine is the cleanest I've ever seen outside of a brand new bike. Tires are approximately 2.5y old. Last belt service was Feb 2014. Last oil change 6 months / 200 miles ago. Previous owner was an employee at Ducati Detroit and he indicated that the valves were checked (found to not need adjustment) at the time of the belt change in Feb 2014. I do not have a receipt for this, however. I've owned several other superbikes from this era and I can say without a doubt that this is the tightest, cleanest, smoothest running one that I've encountered. It currently shares a garage with a 748s, a 999s, and a 911 GTS. Very, very nice bike that a new owner will enjoy for years to come. Located in Nashville, TN. 2011 Ducati Diavel Carbon World Launch First Impressions
Thu, 10 Feb 2011Despite the Diavel Carbon weighing in at 207 kg (456 pounds) dry and featuring bulkier dimensions than any other Ducati it still handles very well. This is down to true Ducati know-how where the 162hp 1200cc L-twin and trellis frame are based on the 1198 superbike developments. The engine is in fact the same Testastretta II found on the Multistrada but with a massive exhaust system that boost power over the Strada by 12 horsepower.
EICMA 2012: New Ducati Hyperstrada a Cross between Hypermotard and Multistrada
Mon, 12 Nov 2012Over the last several months, Ducati fans have been pouring over a number of spy photos and debating whether the new model pictured was a Hypermotard or a Multistrada. The answer, it turns out, is a bit of both, with Ducati revealing the new Hyperstrada at the 2012 EICMA Show alongside a new liquid-cooled Hypermotard. Like the new Hypermotard, the 2013 Ducati Hyperstrada is equipped with an 821cc version of the liquid-cooled Testastretta 11-degree engine.
Piaggio Opening New Design Center in US
Wed, 14 Mar 2012Piaggio announced it is opening a new design center in Pasadena, Calif., to be headed by Aprilia RSV4 designer Miguel Galluzzi. Roberto Colaninno, chairman and chief executive officer of the Piaggio Group, announced plans for the new Advanced Design Center at a dealer convention for the Piaggio Group Americas in Miami, Fla. At the moment, North American customers usually have to wait a little longer before they receive new Piaggio models, with most models arriving on these shores months after they are available in Europe.
