Ducati Superbike description

2001 Ducati 748, frame has 1300 miles and was never registered before me. Two small indentations in the frame from the clip-ons from when the 748 was backed into. Complete 2002 998 Testastratta transplant, which included all wiring, swing arm, gauges, lights, both front and rear suspension, wheels, brakes, all fairings. Motor has 6,282 miles. Timing belts done at 6000 miles using all new CA cycleworks exact fit timing belts. Also at 6k miles, new champion plugs, gapped to factory spec, Motul 300v oil and filter. Valves checked an adjusted during the timing belt change. New battery. New fuel pump and filter installed. 998 plastics have been recently painted OEM yellow. There are a couple of chips in the paint on the tank and a few scratches. I chose not to have the tank  sprayed. New barnett clutch and springs installed also at 6k miles. Clutch master and slave flushed with ATE super blue. New Michelin Pilot Race Soft compound tires. New wind screen along with all new stainless steel fairing fasteners. Previous owner of the 998 began polishing the rims which I did not touch as well as removed the leather from the passenger seat. Bike is perfect and starts right up. In need of a new owner.
Video of the bike starting up cold after a month in the garage.

Ducati Multistrada Ready for Serious Update?

Tue, 13 Jan 2009

This fabed-up image from a French magazine of what a new Ducati Multistrada might look like is more like a fable than fact. If nothing else, the Internet is great for generating entertaining rumors, speculative talk, spewing hearsay, etc, etc. With the exception of chatter on where the next lucky third-world orphan to be assimilated by Brangelina might come from, nothing seems to spread faster than talk of a venerated bike receiving a thorough update.

Ducati 1199 Panigale RS13 unwrapped

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Maybe I'm wired up wrong but these pictures of the Alstare Ducati 1199 Panigale are, to me, more exciting than the latest Sports Illustrated cover. Just look at that tight chassis, the flowing curves and those cans tucked just out of sight and then compare that to the model on the right. I know what I'd rather spend the day with.

EICMA 2008: First Impressions

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t already seen or heard about previously, but here’s a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.
