Ducati Superbike description

Up for auction is my 1999 Ducati 996 SPS #388 limited edition.

This is a very clean and original example of a '99 Ducati 996 SPS with only 16k miles on the clock (I am the second owner). Recent valve and belts service with new Bridgestone Battlax 016 tires — I have only ridden the bike 50 miles since I got it late last year. The fork and shock have also been serviced.

This is a straight and original 996SPS with big CPU box, carbon fiber air box and bigger generator only found on the SPS models. The VIN number also indicates it as a true SPS, I had it checked out with Ducati USA before I bought it. The 996SPS also came with a special race motor package making more power than the other models — this was as good as from the Ducati show rooms back in '99! Chances are if you're looking at this bike, you know what it is.

The bike looks great and is just a blast to ride! I'm only selling it to help fund another project that I am working on finishing, that's why it's priced to sell. Clean title in hand ready for the new owner! This bike is in excellent working order and runs strong!

Please ask any questions that you may have before making your purchase. This bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time prior to completion.

Thank you for looking and good luck!

Rain Puts a Damper on Ducati MotoGP Test

Wed, 29 Feb 2012

Wet conditions limited Ducati factory riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden to just 18 laps each on the second of three days of MotoGP testing in Malaysia. Though there is a lot of work to be done for Ducati to be competitive, the heavy rainfall plus Hayden’s still-recovering shoulder limited track time for both riders. They used what time they did have to work on the Ducati Desmosedici GP12‘s electronics including new traction control software.

So last season I spent all but the last round racing on a buckled wheel. How didn't I spot it, you ask. Well, I should have done and when I asked other riders about the weave at high speed the usual reply was 'They all do that, sir'.

Used: Alpinestars Joey Canvas shoes review

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

The brief I gave to my girlfriend before packing for our little California road-trip was simple: “No hair straighteners, no high-heels and no hand bags!” So, I had to honour the whole ‘packing light’ thing too ...or risk a week of abuse. I picked up these shoes as I thought they’d double as decent riding gear for the Yamaha XVS650 and Ducati Diavel we had lined up but they also looked perfect for wearing with jeans when we’d dumped the bike and were heading out to explore the sights. They don’t feature any ‘real’ armour but they are made from a tough yet flexible canvas and they feature additional protection around the ankle.
