Ducati Superbike description

Great bike made to look like a SENNA. This is the first production model for street after the design change. A classic. The bike has GP shifting. I also have all the original parts in red, with a second sets of wheels. And the original shifter and foot brake with pegs. So it can be returned to complete stock original. Complete service done. Any questions please ask. Price and parts can be discussed if interested in red parts only. Willing to change out parts and return bike to original if the buyer wishes not to have the bike look like a Senna. All Senna side fairings and nose piece are carbon fiber. Also willing to transport bike to buyer for a transport fee to be agreed upon before final sale. Any interest to purchase as original red 916 and not receive black body parts can be talked over. All interest and questions welcome.
No test ride without money in hand.

9 Handy Guides to Motorcycle Road Racing

Thu, 06 Aug 2009

There’s a great series running on Motorcycle.com all about getting you and your motorcycle ready for road racing.  If you are interested at all getting out on the track to be just like those MotoGP racers, you have some very interesting reading ahead of you. The series is very extensive, it starts off with just you and your motorcycle and proceeds all the way to what you should expect, learn, know and bring to the track.  Any expenses made are highlighted in each article so you can get an idea just how much it will cost to get you on your way with this addiction.  The author, Jeremiah Knupp, took his 2000 Ducati 748 along on this journey. Here’s 9 handy guides to help you start motorcycle road racing: Introduction: Leaving the lawn chair Geoff May: one man show to AMA pro – Pointers and Interview with Pro Geoff May Prepping your bike for track school Cleared for Take-Off: Getting Your Race License Building a Supersport racer – the minimum Building a Supersport racer – the priorities Advanced Supersport modifications Building a Supersport Racer – Stage III, the Finishing Touches Preparing for your first race weekend Even if you don’t plan on ever getting into road racing, I found the articles to be quite fascinating as to how Jeremiah Knupp (the author) got prepared for his new hobby.

Back when GPs were really good: Part 2

Rossi versus Gibernau at Brno in 2003. Most of the time Rossi and Gibernau came together, it was a classic in the making but while Rossi on the factory Honda hunting down Gibernau on the satellite Honda is well worth watching, the threat of a looming Bayliss on the Ducati makes this one even better. Gibernau, fresh from a win in Germany at the previous round - having beaten Rossi to the line by 0.060 seconds - was full of fight.

Around the world on a Multistrada

Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
