Ducati Superbike description

Good Day...

Up for auction is my 1993 Ducati 888 SPO. She is in tip top turn key and GO condition. Both vertical & horizontal timing belts & both front and rear and clutch brake fluids were just recently replaced. Oil (Amsoil Synthetic 10W40) and oil filter were just changed too. The following are the amenities on this 888:

- Ferracci Carbon Fiber exhaust slip-ons
- upgraded Brembo GP brake master cylinder
- upgraded Pro Italia clutch slave cylinder
- Motobatt battery
- Corbin leather seat
- carbon fiber front fender & rear hugger
- nice & sticky Michelin Pilot Power front and rear tires with plenty of tread
- upgraded voltage regulator

This 888 SPO has been with me and completely pampered since 2001. I have kept up with the maintenance and care for this bike and it shows well in the pictures. These hand built Ducati's of the Massimo Bordi and Tamburini generations are getting increasingly more difficult to find in this condition.

This is an as-is auction. I had just sold some of my minor motorcycle collection recently and ALL of the winning bidders were beyond satisfied. I have 100% feedback so please feel confident that this is a bona-fide auction. This 888 SPO is being advertised locally; I do reserve the right to end the auction early. Please ask any questions that you may have.

Thanks and great luck with your bids...

Things are coming along nicely in the Speed Triple camp. I’ve finally removed my gaffa tapped heated jacket controls from the tank, and fitted a pair of Bridgestones sticky but durable BT-16’s. Last week a huge box full of R&G crash protection stuff arrived so that will be fitted at the weekend for peace of mind, just as well really because the Triumph now feels like a finely tuned scratcher thanks to a recent new discovery.

The normal life of a motorcycle journalist is actually kind of mundane, as 95% of my time is spent slouched over a computer. But then there are rare days in which we are hosted in lavish accommodations in a cool location to ride some new bike no one else in the world has yet ridden. For a motorcycle enthusiast it’s a charmed life.

New MotoGP Rules for ECU and Factory Status for 2014

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

The Grand Prix Commission released new rules for the 2014 MotoGP season regarding the standard electronic control unit and what constitutes “factory status” for manufacturers. Starting in 2014, the official MotoGP ECU including internal datalogger from Magneti Marelli will become mandatory. Factory teams will be allowed to program their own ECU software while privateers will be required to run the standard software.
