Audi Announces Ducati Q1 2013 Sales Results
Wed, 08 May 2013Ducati sold 9,817 motorcycles in the first three months of 2013, according to the first quarter report from parent company Audi. The first quarter sales result represents a 5.2% decline from the 10,360 Ducati motorcycles sold in the same quarter of 2012 when the company was owned by Investindustrial. Sales were down in Europe where the economy continues to struggle.
European Union Approves Audi Acquisition of Ducati

The approval was expected, but an official decision was nevertheless required before the transaction could proceed. Fri, 05 Jul 2013On June 30, Lightning Electric Motorcycles made history when its rider, current motorcycle record holder Carlin Dunne, completed the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 10:00.964, beating all other motorcycles — gas or electric, 82 in total — to the 14,000-foot summit. This marks the first time in a major motorsport event an electric motorcycle has beaten its gas counterparts. In fact, Dunne’s time is still within the top 10 when you include the four-wheel competitors as well.
