2013 Ducati StreetFighter 848, CONTACT KYLE FOR DETAILS(480) The Ducati Streetfigther 848 combines the 848 Testastretta 11 engine and a new Trellis frame with Superbike 848EVO-derived geometry. This mix assures a great handling and a rush of power which is kept in check by the advanced Ducati Traction Control system. The engine is based on the Testastretta Evoluzione and delivers 132 hp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.5 kgm at 9,500 rpm. Compared to the Testastretta Evoluzione, the 848 Testastretta 11 s overlap angle has been reduced from 37 to 11 to ensure a fluid power delivery, a wider power band and reduced consumption and emissions. The engine is combined with a 2-1-2 exhaust system made from weight-saving 1mm thick steel with 58mm to 63.5mm diameter pipes. The system uses two lambda probes and an electronic valve in the mid-section to deliver increase performance and a wide spread of power.Overview Ducati Streetfighter 848 The new Streetfighter 848 offers pure motorcycling thrills thanks to its perfect combination of 848 Testastretta 11 engine and a new Trellis frame with Superbike 848EVO-derived geometry. Outstanding control and precision make the Streetfighter 848 irresistible. Thanks to the superb handling offered by the new frame, the progressive easy-to-manage power delivery provided by the Testastretta 11 engine, the confidence-inspiring upright riding position and Ducati Traction Control, which keeps watch over the power, this latest interpretation of the fighter concept delivers instant, knock-out riding enjoyment.Concept Ducati Streetfighter 848 Streetfighter DesignThe Ducati Streetfighter is equipped with everything that made the Superbike a legend: Awesome L-Twin muscle with brutal, big-bore torque, thoroughbred chassis technology, beautiful single-sided swingarm, planet-stopping Monobloc brakes and pure, sophisticated class. While the tank and seat shapes leave no doubt as to the Streetfighter s roots, it is the upright and commanding riding position that really starts to shape the character of this ultimate naked. New, minimalistic controls, instrumentation and headlight design leave the front looking clean and mean, while twin-stacked right-side mufflers at the rear leave the tail-end high and sharp. No other Ducati has ever achieved such an aggressive stance while providing a comfortable, empowering, controllable and enjoyable ride.Streetfighter CultureThe Streetfighter culture was born on the backstreets of Northern Europe during the late 70s and 80s. If the Caf racer movement had taken traditional bikes and transformed them to establish out-and-out sportbikes, then Streetfighters were definitely anti-establishment. They evolved by removing the fairings from sport bikes, fitting higher bars and customising to create high-performance, over-th

2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale Recalled in Canada – US Recall Likely to Follow

Fri, 15 Jun 2012

Transport Canada has issued a recall notice for the 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale due to an incorrect screw used in the rear suspension. At this point, the recall is only in Canada and the U.S.’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet issued a similar recall, but considering Ducati North America operates in both countries, a U.S. recall is likely to follow in the next week.

Moto2 needs more radical bikes

Wed, 05 Sep 2012

Makers of fine exhausts, Taylormade Racing have built a Moto2 racer that harks back to the innovative machines like the Elf Honda 500 and Britten V1000. Since Moto2's inception in 2010 the class has featured bikes with conventional chassis but the Taylormade bike, designed by Paul Taylor and John Keogh, has a radical design featuring a carbon-fibre monocoque frame, carbon-fibre swingarm, wishbone monoshock front suspension and an under-seat radiator. However, with such radical engineering the inherent problem is that it is a risk for teams to invest in such a project.

848 Challenge: Official race report, Snetterton 300

Mon, 28 May 2012

Mike Edwards put a disappointing start to the season behind him with a win and a second place at Round Three of the Ducati 848 Challenge at the Snetterton BSB weekend. With a gritty ride to victory in Race One and a late charge to third in Race Two, Edwards (Ohlins @ P&H Motorcycles) managed to keep his championship hopes alive following a run of uncharacteristic crashes at the last two rounds.   Edwards said before Race One that he was going for a “win it or bin it” attitude this weekend as he desperately needed to make up the points he missed out on at Assen.
