Satellite Ducati Team Reveals Desmosedici GP12 Specs

Ducati continues to be tight-lipped about the 2012 edition of its Desmosedici MotoGP race bike, but specifications have finally emerged, thanks to satellite rider Karel Abraham and the Cardion AB satellite team. As a satellite entry, Cardion AB and Abraham won’t have the latest updates to the Desmosedici the factory team has access to, but the Czech team’s announcement reveals some of the basis behind the final machine riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden will ride. The Czech team revealed on its official webpage its Ducati Desmosedici GP12 will produce around 250 hp from its 999cc engine.

Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014

Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale Recalled in Canada – US Recall Likely to Follow

Transport Canada has issued a recall notice for the 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale due to an incorrect screw used in the rear suspension. At this point, the recall is only in Canada and the U.S.’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet issued a similar recall, but considering Ducati North America operates in both countries, a U.S. recall is likely to follow in the next week.
