2014 Ducati 899 Panigale Revealed

Traditionally,  Ducati saves its big reveals for the EICMA Show in November in its native Italy, but with the company now under the helm of Audi, we will have to start looking to Germany for the major announcements. Case in point is the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show where today Ducati officially pulled the covers off its new 899 Panigale, revealing a new “Supermid” version of the 1199 Panigale using the same monocoque frame concept and Superquadro 90-degree V-Twin engine design. Track days, I love em!

I never tire of track days. Well I wouldn’t as I’m out most weeks earning a crust instructing on them, however, there is usually an amusing story at the end of each event. I get great pleasure helping riders (especially if it makes them safer) although I do come across some weird and wonderful riding in the process.

Ducati Announces Record Sales of 44,287 Motorcycles in 2013

Ducati announced a new annual sales record of 44,287 motorcycles sold in 2013, an increase over the previous year’s total of 44,102. Revenue figures were not released, but we expect those numbers to be released with parent company Audi‘s annual report in a few weeks. “We are very proud and satisfied with our results in 2013,” says Claudio Domenicali, chief executive officer of Ducati.
