WSBK 2012: Assen Results

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Alstare Reveals 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R WSBK Livery

The Ducati Alstare team revealed the livery for its Ducati 1199 Panigale R superbike which will make its racing debut in the 2013 World Superbike Championship. The Panigale R replaces the highly successful 1098R as Ducati‘s premiere production-based racebike. Riding the 1199 for Ducati Alstare are Ayrton Badovini and Carlos Checa who won the 2011 WSBK title on the 1098R.

CEO Bob Parsons, owner and founder of GoDaddy.com threw an all out bash at his wedding this weekend. By far the coolest part was the fully edible, full size replica Ducati Streetfighter, designed by celebrity cake maker, Duff Goldman. Complete with working lights and smoking exhaust, this 400lb cake took 8 men to lift into place and is by far the coolest wedding cake we've ever seen.
