Start with the awesome 117 horsepower Superbike 996cc Desmo 4 valve engine, liquid cooling, fuel injection, 11.5:1 compression, 50mm throttle bodies and a six-speed transmission. Then add the latest Showa fully adjustable upside-down forks with low friction Titanium-Nitride (TiN) treatment, an incredible Öhlins remote reservoir shock and a new aluminum rear swingarm. Tue, 24 Apr 2012This is what a destroyed Ducati 1199 Panigale looks like, after South African superbike racer Chris Leeson lost the front end at turn one of the Kyalami circuit. Although the same can't be said for the new and now mangled Ducati superbike, Leeson escaped the crash with minor bruising. Crash sequence below.
EBR 1190 Wins 2011 European Superbike Championship
Wed, 02 Nov 2011Harald Kitsch and the Pegasus Race Team has won its second championship on the EBR 1190RR, capturing the 2011 European Superbike open race class title. The championship follows Kitsch’s win in the 2010 Sound of Thunder V-Twin Championship on the Erik Buell Racing racebike. While the Sound of Thunder championship was won against other V-Twin machines, the European Superbike class included sportbikes from the Japanese Big Four, BMW, Aprilia and Ducati.
