2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S TOURING, Electronic suspension and horsepower control. Can switch between 100 HP and 150 HP and suspension settings on the fly. Very well-maintained. Scuff on hand guard, otherwise no chips, scratches, dings. This bike has always been garaged. Throttlemeister. Two seats--Ducati gel touring seat plus standard seat. Frame sliders. When I bought this, I was debating between a BMW 1200 GS and the Ducati. I bought the Ducati because of the street handling--the smaller diameter front tire makes cornering very easy. Focused Events handed me a zero miles bike to play on but with the rain hammering down, I opted to fit some wets for my first run out. With no instruction manual I still found the dash easy to navigate so I was soon in wet riding mode and ready to roll.

Tue, 07 Jun 2011Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
