Ducati Monster description

2013 Ducati Monster 796, CONTACT KYLE FOR DETAILS(480)-898-0559The 2013 796 is one of the newest members of the Monster family and like is siblings, it offers a perfect mix between sports performances, dynamic design and daily riding pleasure. The 796 is situated between the 696 and 1100 models and combines the comfort of the first with the sportiness of the second. The bike weighs just 167 kg and is equipped with an 803 cc L-Twin cylinder, air cooled engine, which delivers a 87hp @ 8250rpm and 58lb-ft o torque at 6250rpm. The 2013 model features a new crankshaft assembly which uses a lightweight 848-type flywheel and has a 66mm stroke instead of the 696 s 57.2mm.The Ducati Monster 796 is built on a strong, but light tubular steel Trellis frame with aluminium rear sub-frame, combined with a 43 mm Marzocchi upside down stanchion fork, which provides 120 mm of wheel travel. Talking about the wheels, they feature a 5-spoke configuration and are fitted with front 120/70ZR and rear 180/55ZR tires. The 20th Anniversary edition feature the original wing mirrors found at the first Monster and the original 1986 Ducati logo placed on the tank.Overview Ducati Monster 796 20th Anniversary The Monster 796 is the perfect synthesis between sports performances, aesthetics and daily riding pleasure. Cared for in each single detail, it is the ideal bike for each riding style and represents the utmost evolution of the Monster family.Concept Ducati Monster 796 20th Anniversary Less is MonsterThe less-is-more philosophy behind all Monsters underlines Ducati s never-ending pursuit of genuinely compact, high performance motorcycles, but these new models have succeeded in being even more pared down than their predecessors.Every single component has been redesigned and redeveloped so now more than ever, form follows function. With any details detracting from the Monster concept being eliminated, less-is-more also means less-is-Monster . Less weight plus more torque equals fun-filled riding.Monster StoryIn 1992 Ducati unveiled a new prototype that was to become an icon. Ducati s creation awed the crowds and the world s media of that year s Cologne International Motorcycle show. The 900 Monster was a motorcycle that created a truly new niche - dramatically styled, minimalist in stature yet bristling with innovative engineering solutions. The Monster s radical styling has also provided the inspiration for an entire after-market sector specialising in hot-rod parts for this legendary machine. For this reason, rarely do you see two Monsters the same. This radical and refreshing design departure also influenced other manufacturers but, as the old adage states: imitation is the highest form of flattery... The Monster is characterised by a long and successful history, by its introduction during the years of numerous cyli

WSBK: 2012 Magny-Cours Results – Championship Decided by Half a Point

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

You would think carrying a 30.5 point lead into the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship would be a safe enough margin to win the title. Aprilia‘s Max Biaggi made it interesting, inexplicably crashing out of the first race at the finale in Magny-C0urs before scoring a fifth place finish in Race Two to give him a 0.5 point margin over Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes to win the title. The 358 to 357.5 point difference is the narrowest finish ever in WSBK.
