Ducati Monster description

2013 Ducati Monster 1100Evo, For 2013 Ducati is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Monster range with special paint jobs mimicking the iconic style of the original Monster. We consider the Monster 1100Evo an air-cooled naked Superbike. Anyone who has ridden our demo at one of our track days will agree. This bike is surprisingly fast. And it rails in the corners. Faster around a track than most riders can go. And with ABS, traction control and adjustable suspension, the 1100Evo is the big-bore Monster we've all been waiting for. Cycle World magazine recently compared the bike to the Triumph Speed Triple and picked the Ducati winner. The big Monster has never beaten the Speed Triple in magazine comparison tests; a testament of the 1100Evo vs the older 1100, 1000 and 900 Monsters of the past.

The 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is in the books, and while much of the media attention focused on Sebastien Loeb demolishing the outright course record, setting the first eight-minute lap with a 8:13.878 — over 90 seconds faster than the previous lap record —in his Peugeot 208 T16, history was made in the motorcycle divisions as well. Below are the times for all the motorcycle competitors in this year’s event. As expected, Carlin Dunne aboard the Lightning electric superbike, took top honors among all motorcycle competitors, marking the first time an electric motorcycle has done so.

The international Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released a provisional entry list for the 2012 Superstock 1000 Cup. Though it has yet to be included on the official FIM homologation list, the 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale is listed six times, representing three different teams. The 1199 is expected to be added to the entry list this month, as homologation is all but a formality at this point for the most anticipated sportbike of the year.
