Ducati 900 GTS description

RELISTED DUE TO NON PAYMENT..Please if your going to bid be prepared to pay..And please ask any questions..

Well, its that time in ones life to unload this gem and let someone else care for her...

I've added more photos and more details and NO RESERVE!

1978 Ducati 900GTS

Frame #854652

Engine #854765

Here is your chance to own a preserved original condition 4000 mile Square Case Bevel Head Ducati at a reasonable price.

This 900GTS is 1 out of 300 bikes produced in 1978 and only 80 of them went to the US market..

I purchase this bike from the 2nd owner who is a dear friend a few years back. He owned the bike since 1979 or 1980 and held it in his collection since i purchased it. It has been well cared for and has only 4065 miles on the clock. The miles are true and correct.

It has its original black paint with silver stripes. The paint is in fantastic condition and has only very light crackling in it if you look very closely in sunlight due to its age.. The patina is true and honest..

Recently serviced which includes rebuilt carbs, fuel tank clean and inspected, oil change, new battery..This bike runs perfectly and purrs like a kitten .

The only non original part on it are the K&N low handle bars which the pervious owner switch out..I will provide its original factory handle bars in with sale. The original headers were black chromed back in early 80's to match color of handle bars. Factory and original LaFranconi exhaust and no dings!!All switches and lights work as they should. The Pirelli Phantom tires are in great shape. Still has factory side stand and center stand still intact and in perfect condition.

Factory electric start and also kick start. Both working perfectly.

This bike was purchased new from Ghost Motorcycles Dealer in Long Island, NY and still has dealer sticker on rear fender. The dealer is no longer in business. It just so happens that I personally know the old owners and they verified the dealer sticker on rear fender to be true and accurate.  They also gave me a old business card which I will include in sale.

What more can i say, the bike is still new with very low miles. Any questions please ask and i will do my best to answer the best i know how.

Don't let this one get away, you don't find them like this to often anymore.. Good Luck and bid with confidence.

Ducati Celebrates 1 Million Facebook Likes – Video

Mon, 28 May 2012

Facebook has been getting a bad rap of late with its recent IPO but that didn’t stop Ducati from celebrating its millionth “Like” on the official Ducati Facebook page. The Italian manufacturer marked the occasion with a video thanking its fans. The video is almost a real-life demonstration of how Facebook operates, following a first-person perspective of a fan visiting Ducati‘s headquarters in Bologna, Italy, and raising a thumb to “like” things he sees such the rows of L-Twin-powered motorcycles in the parking lot, Corse racebikes on display at the Ducati Museum, factory workers assembling a Ducati 1199 Panigale.

Want sugar with that?

THE FOUNDER of a Ducati dealership in America has started selling a Ducati-inspired coffee at his shop.Arun Sharma, of Portland Ducati dealers MotoCorsa, says he went on an exhaustive search for the best coffee producers available: "Wine, bikes, coffee — quality always boils down to the people who crafted the product and the people they made it for." 'CorsaCaffe' is available with or without caffeine.“Even if you are not a coffee drinker, you may want to obtain the coffee as a centerpiece," says Sharma. "Packaging like CorsaCaffe’s has never been seen before.”Sharma also sells a Ducati-inspired wine, CorsaVino, which uses the same style branding.

Press launches - the ugly truth. Part 3

Sun, 03 Apr 2011

So with an afternoon of sightseeing completed (a rare luxury on most launches) it's back to the hotel for the press conference. These are you usually long winded, tooth pulling affairs with Japanese technicians insisting on speaking their bestest engrish which only serves to elongate the proceedings. Nothing kills a presentation more than reading every word of a powerpoint slide verbatum, even thought the viewers can read exactly the same words (and probably a lot faster).  The Crossrunner presentation was mercifully brief and snappy followed by dinner in the hotel and a reasonably early night as everyone had already been up for twenty hours.
