Eagles - Maria Muldaur Desperado Tour - 1973
Performers:
Eagles
James Montgomery Band
Maria Muldaur
Venue:
Palace Concert Theatre
Providence, RI
Date:
Fri., December 7, 1973
At this show the Eagles were on tour in support of their second album "Desperado". Released earlier in 1973 it's a concept album based on the Dalton gang and the Old West. Although not a huge success at the time over the years it has been recognized as a creative and artistic masterpiece. It is considered by many to be one of the greatest country rock albums of all time.
The band opened this show with "Take It Easy" and their set contained such tunes as "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Outlaw Man" and "Witchy Woman". They returned for an encore that included "James Dean" and "Out Of Control".
NOTE: Although the title track of "Desperado" is one of the Eagles' most well known and loved songs, it was never released as a single.
