Album Notes
Despite its billing as a Johnny Cash concert, this 1976 recording from Tennessee State Prison includes performances from country music picker Roy Clark, Linda Ronstadt, and comic drunk Foster Brooks. Cash performs seven songs, one of which is the rarely heard "Jacob Green," about a prison suicide, which strongly reaffirms his reputation as a prisoners' advocate, as well as his first Sun Records single, "Hey Porter," and Shel Silverstein's hit song about gender confusion, "A Boy Named Sue."
