Scooter enthusiasts will instantly recognize this Heinkel 103 A-1 scooter as one of the premier European scooters of the 1960s.  This scooter continues to be used by enthusiasts in Europe to tour for days on end with a sleeping bag on the fold down front luggage rack and a duffle on the rear luggage rack. I purchased this scooter as a barn find that was 99% complete and very original.  Over a period of a couple of years I performed an extensive restoration on the scooter.  Since the completion of restoration in 2010 I have only ridden it a few times.  It needs to be used much more than I have used it!  This scooter also has a stablemate that I have listed; a 1958 Heinkel Kabine microcar.  It is amazing how much these two have in common when you look closely under the bodywork! The restoration of this scooter began with a total disassembly to the bare frame.  The frame was detailed using the proper color gray on the frame.  The fork was reinstalled with new bearings and new motor mounts were fitted to the rear of the chassis.

After many trips to Italy, CorsaVino founder Arun Sharma, was exposed to Italian winemakers passion and obsession for quality and the detail that goes in to creating a fine wine.  Sharma, felt this kind of dedication resonated deeply with his appreciation for Italian motorcycles and sought out acclaimed winemaker Rich Cushman who also happened to have a passion for Italian motorcycles and started the CorsaVino winery. You can order this motorcycle branded wine through the CorsaVino website, prices range from $24-$55, but if you ride don’t drink and if you drink don’t ride. Source
