Chopper Chopper description

The absolute best motorcycle I've ever owned. Never thought the day would come that I would see it go, but selling because I have my first kid on the way!

Bike started as a 2004 BMC Hooligan 541 and has over the years received several hours and dollars of custom work. She's an award winning bike that stands apart from the rest.

-Stats-

*88 cubic inch 1450 Revtech engine
* 5 speed Revtech transmission
* Dynatech electronic ignition
* 180/18 rear wheel with 21 inch front
*Aftermarket drag bars and risers
* Reupholstered white pleated seat with black piping.

The thing that sets this bike apart from the rest is the phenomenal 60's style metal flake paint job done by 5280 custom paint from Colorado. The base is a candy gold with black outlays and scale style airbrushing.

Pinstriping was done by the one and only award winning Mike Learn, the artist behind Iron Maiden cover art, as well as art for Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Twisted Sister, etc. Paint is five years old and still looks new with only minor scratches and chips from consistent riding.

The other thing that sets this bike apart is just how reliable it is. I've owned several choppers, Harley's, Triumphs, and sport bikes over the years and this is head and shoulders the most reliable bike I've ever owned. She gets stored away every Colorado winter for 7-9 months, and with only a trickle charge to the battery and fresh fuel, she fires up on the first try every year up until she's put away again.

In the time she's not stored she gets ridden, a lot. I don't do a whole lot of highway miles with her anymore but she's my daily driver in town for most of the year. No idea how many miles she's gotten since I removed the odometer, but I would estimate the bike to be nearing 10,000 miles. She's a beautiful machine in pictures and in person, but she's not perfect. Again there are scratches, chips, and road wear, I wash her consistently and care for her mechanically, but I've never kept this bike on a shelf. If you've got the stones to ride a rigid, I would be confident in the buyer flying out and riding her home, she's never let me down.

Over the years the care of this bike has been a high priority for me, but because of a new job, and a baby on the way, time has been an issue, so she's  due for a front tire, an oil change, and front brake pads that I've not yet gotten to. Also it does have a taillight, but no brake light as the switch may have gone out. Taillight lens has a small chip. These are the needs currently, but everything else works great.

I've described the bike to the best of my ability, but having been on both sides of buying and selling a vehicle over the years, I'm holding nothing back and encourage you to clear the air with any questions you may have before purchase.

PLEASE NOTE: I bought the bike originally with a credit union loan which I still owe on, so purchase price can go to me to pay off that loan and deliver title, or directly to the credit union to receive title. I've done this in the past and it's an easy process that delays title delivery by 2-3 weeks estimated.

$500 down payment will be due from buyer within 24 hours of auction with full balance due to myself or the credit union within one week of auction end.

Bike is sold as-is

Bike must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end. I live in Steamboat Springs Colorado which is 2 1/2 hours west from Denver.

Thank you for looking, and good luck! You'll never find another like this one.

Ariel Chopper on eBay

Mon, 24 Nov 2008

Normally when I think of a custom chopper, I envision something like Wyatt’s Captain America bike or even retro re-creations like the Harley Davidson Cross Bones. After all the act of chopping normally referred to forks and frames, not chopping wood. A unique ride recently added to eBay breaks from this tradition with a wooden hot rod built around the engine and transmission from a 1952 Ariel Square 4 motorcycle.
