EBR First American Sportbike To Score Points In WSBK, Makes History

The EBR 1190RX had its best finish to date in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK) series during the only US round at Laguna Seca in Salinas, Calif., this past weekend. In an exciting twist, the wild card entry of Larry Pegram running the #72 Foremost Insurance/EBR/AMSOIL/Hero entry garnered a 14th place finish in the second race, earning the first-ever WSBK points for an American motorcycle manufacturer.  [In actuality, Pegram's EBR crossed the line in 16th place. However, the two Bimota BB3 entries who finished eighth and ninth with riders Ayrton Badovini and Christian Iddon, respectively, have had their finishes nullified all season because Bimota has not met the FIM's homologation requirements.

Parts Unlimited To Be EBR OEM Parts Distributor

Erik Buell Racing (EBR) announced today that it has selected Parts Unlimited of Janesville, Wis, as its distribution partner for all EBR spare parts for North America. Under the agreement, Parts Unlimited will stock EBR parts and handle order processing and fulfillment for EBR’s dealer network. “We selected Parts Unlimited as our distribution partner because of their highly automated operations, strategically-located warehouses and existing relationships with so many of our dealers. EBR 1190SX Price And Specs Now Released

At the recent press ride of the EBR 1190RX, held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, EBR surprised those in attendance by unveiling the next model in its lineup, the 1190SX streetfighter. EBR is calling it “a true naked streetfighter-style sport bike with uncompromised Superbike race-bred performance and handling.” However, virtually no information was given on the bike in order to build hype and suspense. Now more information is trickling in from EBR, the latest being official pricing and specs.

2015 EBR 1190SX Revealed

Erik Buell Racing launches its next salvo to the sportbike market with the 1190SX streetfighter. The 1190SX borrows heavily from EBR’s 1190RX superbike contender that MO’s Troy Siahaan is scheduled to test today at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Although no specs have been released, the SX appears to use most of the RX’s hardware: 1190cc V-Twin engine; aluminum fuel-carrying frame; massive 386mm single-disc front brake.
