2000 Buell Lightning X1/S1, This bike is in excellent shape. Especially for the vintage. Shows only minor normal wear for its age. 11,967 miles. No leaks, no smoke, runs like a top. The following has been done or added within the last 500 miles: Fresh engine oil and filter (Castrol RS 20/50 full synthetic). Fresh primary lube. New K&N air filter. Supertrapp muffler installed. New ProGrip grips. New golf club mirrors. Converted to XB rocker covers and breathers. New NGK plugs and Accel 8.8mm wires. New Lyndall Gold brake pads front and rear. The Pirelli Diablos are in great shape (front is like new, rear is 90%). Also included are the original muffler (it has been cored), another aluminum seat frame (stripped for polishing), and the matching red belly fairing and mounting hardware (has some rock chips on the front lip from the front tire -I like the bike without it installed). Erik Buell Racing 1190RS and KTM RC8R Make AMA Superbike Debuts

The July 8-10 Mid-Ohio round of the 2011 AMA Superbike series featured the debut of two new superbikes, the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS and the KTM RC8R Race Spec. Chris Fillmore (11) finished an impressive seventh place in a red-flagged Race One for KTM-HMC Racing while Geoff May (99) placed eleventh on the Amsoil EBR 1190RS. The second race saw both riders finish in the top ten with Fillmore in ninth and May in the ten spot.

New EBRs Rolling Down The Assembly Line

On its Facebook page recently, EBR posted this picture of what are presumably 1190RX models in the first four stations of the assembly line. While maybe not Earth shattering news, it is uplifting to see Erik Buell back in business, with models we can’t wait to ride in the new year. From the photo we can see the 1200cc V-Twin engines in place, with swingarms mounted.

AMA Sportbike: 2012 Daytona 200 Results

The 2012 Daytona 200 delivered another fairy-tale finish with underdog privateer Joey Pascarella and the Project 1 Atlanta team fending off a pack of three other racers to win by a slim 0.048 second margin. Competing in just his first Daytona 200, 19-year-old Pascarella from Victorville, Calif., held the lead for 41 out of 57 laps to finish first ahead of a last year’s winner Jason DiSalvo while Cameron Beaubier squeezed by 2010 Daytona Sportbike Champion Martin Cardenas in a photo-finish to take third. For the Project 1 Atlanta team, the win marked a dramatic turnaround from a let down in 2011.
