Bimota All description

Up for sale is a personal project I have owned for years, but will never get around to finishing. This is a 1997 Bimota YB11. If you are looking at this listing, you already know what this is, and what it will be like when finished. The mileage on the bike is correct. It was crashed with only 34 miles on it. It was parted out, and what little was left was purchased, and the project to get her back on the road was started. The frame was correctly straighten by GMD Computrack, powdercoated black, and then the Paoli forks and DB2 wheels were attached. Custom wheel bearings were made to adapt the DB2 wheels to these YB11 axles. The body shell was custom painted silver and black, with the correct decals added. It comes with what you see here, plus the rear seat, and several boxes of parts including fairings that need repair and are still the original color. The fuel tank is also included. It takes a YZF1000 motor, but with minor work, any newer R1 Crossplane would work too. That was my idea for it anyway. My loss is your gain, so please, don't bid unless you really want to follow through and get her back on the road. Thanks.

Bimota is returning to the World Superbike Championship after signing a five-year research and development deal with Team Alstare. The Italian company was one of the original manufacturers in the series’ inaugural 1988 season but Bimota hasn’t competed since the 2000 season. Team Alstare will enter two Bimota BB3 superbikes in the EVO class, playing a leading role in developing the sportbike.
