BSA Lightning description

Very nice shape 1972 BSA A65L Lightning. 650cc's. Runs and rides. No title, a bill of sale will be provided. If a title is needed I can get one in my name for an additional fee

I bought from the original owners son. Was in California its entire life until recently. Last tagged in 1983. Carbs were recently cleaned, newer battery installed, valves adjusted and oil and fluid change.

Perfect candidate for restoration. Original with exception of paint and mirror and complete with exception of rear upper grab bar and tank badges. Small dent in the gas tank and the gas tank was perviously lined. Still has the center stand and original lucas headlight.

Very cool bike that I've enjoyed having around but I have too many bikes and you can't keep them all. Would be a great restore project for someone or ride and enjoy as is.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Buyer responsible for arranging shipping.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump. The oil on canvas piece is 36” x 60”. In addition to these two originals, some of Carter’s Giclee prints will be available.
