BSA JM24 tech info
BSA JM24 description
Hi, This bike is somewhat very hard to write about, It is a 1938 JM24 500cc gold star BSA where there was only a couple of hundred approximatly built, This model was built in parallel with the M model buthad the high tencile frame fitted and no manufactured areas to mount a sidecar that the army would of wanted. these engines were manufactured or cast away from the BSA factory and when they went to asssemble them they had to brack some fins of the motor to fit the push rod tube bolts. The first 100 bikes never left the BSA factory and the next about 150 endered all over the world but have now slowely disapeared and now onl;y a few are left, IE (that is ones that are still as they were when they left the factory correct engine to frame combination), this particular bike has been in my family since the early to mid 1940s so we know the history of it. My father bought the bike from the original owner who I belive imported it from England new as a racing outfit for road racing, but my father wanted to do scrambling on it so for the early part of it racing by my father it did both road and scramble racing so it had 1 x19inch front wheel, 1 x20inch front wheel and 1x21inch front wheel and they are still with the bike now, there is 1x19inch rear wheel with a knoby scramble tyre fitted and the wheel that is in the frame now has the road tyre. there is also a near complete spare engine with it, a spare gearbox, complet clutch assemble and other spare bits and peaces that go with this sale and I will not split it up as it goes as a lot sale. If any more information is required please do not hesitate to ask and I will fill in your request

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer
Tue, 24 Mar 2009There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen.
