BSA A65L description
This is an a 1965 BSA A65L Lightning, It is a reproduction motorcycle made based on the motorcycle from the James Bond movie "Thunderball". In the movie the bike was ridden by the late Bill Ivy, then a UK motorcycle champion, wearing a blond wig to make him look like Bond girl Fiona Volpe, played by Italian actress Luciana Paluzzi. Volpe used the gold-painted BSA to fire two rocket missiles and destroy Count Lippe's car, which was chasing Bond. This BSA was restored completely in 2000 and in 2012 was shipped to Canada where it has remained. We have owned the bike for the past year and it currently has 1200 miles. The bike is very well maintained and is serviced regularily. I have included photos of the bike from Italy when it was restored and also photos of the bike at the Toronto Motorcycle show last year where it won first place in it's catagory as well as photos at the Toronto show with the bike and "Tig" from "Sons of Anarchy" as he was walking around the show taking some photos with bikes he liked. And a few photos with Heather from biker TV from our shop last week from a photo shoot, they are the most recent ones. The bike has been at many shows and has won many awards, it is truly a one of a kind motorcycle so if you are a collector this is one you will want to add to your collection! Includes 007 Licence plate The bike is located in London, Ontario we will help with crating and shipping $500 deposit is required with buy it now, deposit is non-refundable if you have any questions please call PD Restoration (519) 652-6200 |

Man Builds Sidecar from Bathtub
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Back in 1997, an unusual motorcycle appeared on the front page of the Bristol Evening Post. Unable to afford a costly traditional sidecar, bus driver Alan Iles of Bedminster opted to build his own, using a bathtub. Twelve years later, the 1959 650cc BSA is still going and has been ridden all over Europe to help raise money for Cancer research and various charities, for which he has raised thousands of British pounds.
What’s Old Is New Again – Video
Mon, 14 Oct 2013There’s something distinctly cool about old British motorcycles. From the wire wheels, the minimal bodywork, and the exposed engines which give off a thunderous bark, I’ve always loved looking at old Triumphs, BSAs and the like from the 60s. I’ve never owned one though. The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.
The Steve McQueen Desert Racer
Tue, 24 Mar 2009There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.
