New: BMW GS Dry adventure clothing

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

BMW has launched an all-new adventure suit and gloves called the GS Dry, designed to complement its GS range of adventure motorcycles, and has also updated its adventure boots and off-road helmet for 2013. Here's the skinny from BMW:   GS Dry Suit: The all-new GS Dry Suit is ideally suited to new and younger riders; offering traditional BMW Motorrad design, comfort and safety and, above all, fantastic value for money. Crafted from breathable, tough Cordura 500 fabric, the GS Dry Suit is ready to take on any weather and terrain, featuring a wind and waterproof C.A.R.E Climate membrane and BMW Motorrad’s own NP protectors. Further small, but welcome, design touches include stretch inserts, air vents, reflective panels, leather paneling on high-wear areas on the legs and a selection of internal and external waterproof pockets. The GS Dry Suit, available in a selection of colours and sizes for both men and women, costs £750.  GS Dry Glove: New for 2013 is the GS Dry Glove, a hybrid textile/leather blend with the outstanding Gore-Tex X-Trafit membrane. Offering protection from the elements on and off-road, the GS Dry Glove features abrasion-resistant SuperFabric on the hand and memory foam for impact protection. The GS Dry Glove, available in a selection of colours and sizes for both men and women, costs £85.

2023 BMW S1000RR Review - First Ride

Thu, 29 Dec 2022

Bavarian Bullet Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jörg Künstle It scarcely seems possible that BMW Motorrad’s lineup-leading S1000RR sportbike actually made its official public debut a whole decade and a half ago in April 2008, with deliveries beginning the following year. Even though 15 years is a long time, especially in the Superbike arena, where serious players like BeeEm, as well as Ducati, Aprilia, and the Japanese, don’t stint on investing in fast-moving high-end technical R&D in pursuit of engineering excellence, the German brand’s first-ever customer motorcycle with a transverse-mounted four-cylinder has maintained its leading edge reputation for both mechanical and electronic innovation ever since then, and the newly introduced latest version is no exception. This is because, for the coming 2023 model year, BMW has essentially uprated its existing volume production version of the bike by transplanting a good chunk of the array of technical upgrades available until now only to around 1,200 well-heeled or well-sponsored users of the M1000RR, the uber-expensive, uber-performing version of BMW’s street-legal superbike that’s been on sale for the past two years, essentially as a homologation special for Superbike racing.

Mon, 12 Mar 2012

SHOEI'S new Neoteh is now available in UK dealers. The new helmet, which is aimed directly at Schuberth and BMW's offerings, is priced at £470 and is Shoei's first helmet with a built-in drop-down sun visor. Here's what Feridax (Shoei's UK importer) have to say about it: The New Shoei NEOTEC – Fact File: See clearly in safety – Shoei’s first built-in, drop-down sun visor boasts additional space within the shell with no compromise of safety in the front  absorption layer.
