BMW to Unveil Five New Models Including Electric Scooter Production Model

BMW announced it will unveil at least five new models over the next few months, starting with the production version of the C evolution electric scooter. BMW will likely reveal most of these new models at the 2013 EICMA Show in Milan in November but the new electric scooter will make its public debut tomorrow at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. “No fewer than five new models will be unveiled to the public in the coming months.

BMW Posts Record First-Half Figures

BMW Motorrad sold a record 60,580 motorcycles over the first six months of 2011, a new record for the German manufacturer. First half figures were 6.3% higher than the 57,015 units sold in the same period in 2010. BMW reports strong demand across all its models, with the Boxer engine R-series models leading the way.

Finnish racer Juha Salminen announced his retirement from racing at the end of the 2013 World Enduro Championship, capping off a career that included 13 world championships and a record 96 World Enduro Championship wins.
